2017 FALL

Foothills Minor Ball Association is very fortunate to have the Okotoks Dawgs Academy Coaches and players instruct our camps and work with the growing number of athletes in our program. As we want to continue growing the level of play in our association and offer our athletes more specialized instruction, we have asked if the Dawgs could assist FMBA by offering a camp that is geared to emphasize proper skill sets as well as more position specific training and they have graciously agreed. This camp will be geared toward the understanding of proper stretching and agility as well include Dawgs coaches and players taking FMBA players through the Dawgs very own throwing program. All those attending will be given a one page tutorial explaining the program for kids to have for future learning. Players will perform the program before each session so they understand how the program works. During the camp players will also work with coaches and players of the Dawgs Academy in performing position specific skills when it comes to the infield, outfield, catching, pitching and hitting. For example- kids enrolled will work at 3rd base on backhands, slow rollers etc when fielding and making throws; Mid infielders will learn how to turn double plays; 1st baseman will work on picking short hops or learning other skills designed just for 1st baseman.

This is a small sample of what players will be offered but we hope it gives everyone a better understanding of the direction FMBA is headed in offering and challenging our athletes and in thanks to partners like the Okotoks Dawgs this would not be possible.
