Monday, February 13, 2012

All registered participants MUST provide there own ball glove and CSA approved helmet. See specific divisions of ball to see the equipment provided, and the equipment required for playing ball.

Do we get a uniform?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Yes you will receive a t-shirt and ball cap which is given out when the teams get together. Softball and Outlaws have specific uniform requirements according to CMSA and Baseball Alberta regulations.

Does my child need cleats (baseball shoes)?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Cleats are NOT mandatory but they are an option. We recommend Grand Slam and up to have rubber cleats (no steal cleats).

How many days a week do the kids play?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Typically twice a week, although this depends on the coach and the team. Coaches may add extra practices. There is a larger commitment if you play Rep Ball, please refer to Rep Ball information.

Where do we travel for House League games?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Rally Cap and Grand Slam play only in Okotoks. House League Mosquito, Pee Wee, and Bantam will play in Okotoks and surrounding areas (High River, Millarville, Blackie, Black Diamond, Davisburg, Nanton) depending on who has teams in that division.

How do I volunteer for a position?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Please contact our Administrative Assistant at admin@okotoksminorball.com. Contact and volunteer information is listed on the webssite under the "Volunteer Opportunities" tab.

What is an Outlaw team?

Monday, February 13, 2012

An Outlaw team is our Competitive Baseball Team. They play in a Baseball Alberta League and travel within Alberta. Please see Outlaws Rep Ball for more information.

What time do the games start and end?

Monday, February 13, 2012

This varies with the age and division that your child is playing in. Typically the younger the division the earlier the start times during the week. We aim to have all of the younger divisions completed before 8pm. Please see divisions on left hand side of home page for specific times of play.

What is the commitment to an Outlaw team?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Outlaw teams have 2 practices per week that must be attended. They also play about 2 weekends in May and June and 3 weekends in July. Due to the weekend formats and the competitiveness of this type of ball all players are expected to be at ALL games. We do not field large teams so all players are needed. We do understand that some things are planned way in advance and if we are made aware during evaluations what date someone may have to miss it is helpful. The Coaches expectations are very high for these players. Players must be ready to start practice at 6:00pm and not just be showing up. They also want players at games at least 1 hour prior to game time for proper warm up. Please click on link below for commitment expectations and dates of play.

Does my child need ball pants?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Grand Slam division and up need ball pants. Mites and up require pants for fastball. For Rally Cap it is optional.

Will I be reimbursement if my child drops out?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Please review the Refund Policy listed under the "Registration" Tab.

Where will I see my money go for my player?

Monday, February 13, 2012

The registration fees cover the cost of field/diamond rentals, administrative assistant salary, team pictures, equipment storage, uniforms, equipment (bats, ball, catchers gear...etc)and field equipment (excluding ball glove, helmet, pants and cleats). These fees help cover the costs accumulated by the organization, and help to make the experience for your child as great as possible.

If my child doesnt play Rally Cap this year, can he still play Grand Slam next year?

Monday, February 13, 2012

Yes, your son could as long as he was born between the acceptable date ranges in the division. Rally Cap is a fun introduction to baseball, but not required to move up divisions as your son gets older. No previous baseball experience is necessary to ever play, but it may dictate evaluation scores.

Thursday, May 19, 2011
