2024 FMBA Hosted Clinic

Baseball Alberta, NUCP Level 1

The objective of this clinic is to better educate coaches, managers, parents, players and any other interested non-umpires on the rules of baseball, and to discuss and improve the on-field and off-field relationship between umpires and the above-mentioned parties.  Topics include the role of an umpire, common rule myths, discussion on often encountered rules and an analysis of the relationship between umpires and other participants of the game.  A general question and answer session concludes the clinic.
Whether you are new to coaching or to the sport, or have many years of experience, we are confident this clinic will have something for everyone. All House League and Rep Level Coaches/Co-Coaches must plan on attending this Mandatory 3 hour session. All interested players are welcome to join as well.

Foothills Minor Baseball Association needs to recruit officials into the game of baseball with the greatest need being to support the House League at 11U, 13U, 15U and 18U Levels.

The house league baseball season starts at the beginning of May and finishes at the end of June. League games are normally held on weeknights and tournaments are played on weekends. There is a mid-season and year end tournament for both the Mosquito and PeeWee divisions. Umpires will likely work as many games a week as they are able as the shortage of baseball officials in this area is quite severe. To become a baseball umpire you must attend a clinic, pass an exam and obtain adequate equipment.
